D is for…

by Judy Klipin

Do and Don’t.

We get Do and Don’t messages all through our lives.  ‘Do be careful.  Don’t take chances. Do make plans.  Don’t get ahead of yourself.’

Here – I hope – are some rather more constructive and liberating ones.

Don’t:

Talk yourself into things you don’t want to.

Talk yourself out of things you do want to do.

Pay too much attention to your thoughts  – unless they serve you positively.

Let other people tell you what to do, feel or think.  (You know yourself better than anyone else does.)

Put other people’s needs above your own.

Expect others to know what you want and need without telling them!

Say ‘Yes’ when you mean ‘No.’

Panic. (Trust the process – all will be well.)

Do:

What feels right.  (For you – not for anyone else!)

Be yourself.

Listen to your body.  (It is a much more reliable source of information than your mind, which you can use to talk yourself into or out of anything.)

Give yourself permission to make new choices.

Be the change you want to see in your life.

Celebrate your successes and achievements.

Own your brilliance.

Ask for help.

Allow yourself to be happy.

Allow yourself to be vulnerable.

Allow yourself to succeed.

Allow yourself to step into your light.

What dos and don’ts would you like to add?

Feeling overwhelmed in your life, work or relationships?
