When is this year going to slow down?

by Judy Klipin

Every year at this time I expect things to start winding down. And every year my expectations are shattered. Rather than slowing down and getting more relaxed, I have to speed up; see more clients, produce more reports, do more, see more, be more.

In the last two weeks I have signed up four new clients.

It seems that, as the end of the year approaches, there is an injection of transformation energy.  People start to think about the changes they promised themselves but haven’t yet got around to making.  They are faced with the prospect of another year in a job they don’t like, or relationships that are draining, they feel unhappy with their health…

There is nothing like the approach of a new year to make us think about how we want our lives and relationships to be different.  Although I am tired and looking forward to my holiday, I am also so pleased to be able to help people take stock at this powerful time of the year.  That is why I try and accommodate all of the requests for coaching at this time.

It is a privilege to be able to offer support to people wanting to identify ways to improve their experiences of and contributions to their worlds.

There are essentially three working weeks left in this year.  Summer holidays (for those of us in the South) beckon, Christmas is fast approaching and the New Year looms large.   I am going to do everything I can to help my clients to make what is left of this year really count, so that 2013 is all they want it to be – and more.
