Magical Master Mind Meeting

by Judy Klipin

I wrote my monthly newsletter (which went out today) last night.  I love writing the newsletter, just as long as I know what I want to write about.  Sometimes I think I want to explore something but it becomes clear that it just does not want to be written about.  Then I have to try a different track.

This is what happened to me last night. On the upside, I wrote a piece for my other Blog, but it did mean that once I had written the newsletter and set it up to be delivered this morning, I went to bed rather late.

So when I woke up very early (5:30am is extremely early for me – I am not a morning person) I was somewhat bleary and I did have a thought or two about not going to my Master Mind meeting which runs from 7 to 9am, but I had missed the last two and I have been missing them, so I got out of bed and went to the meeting.

And I am so pleased I did.

Every month five coaches (me and four others) meet to share ideas, coach each other and act as accountability partners.  It is an incredibly warm and supportive little community and one I value enormously.  If you are a coach you will know that it can be a lonely profession – we can’t talk about what goes on in our sessions, we work alone a lot of the time – and so having a place to meet and talk to people who understand each others’ work, challenges and victories is a real lifeline.  I highly recommend it to all coaches and ‘solo-preneurs’.

I always leave my Master Mind meetings feeling energized, inspired and appreciated and today was no exception.  I buzzed off back to my computer where I spent a good few hours sending and responding to emails, scheduling appointments, doing loads of admin  and spending some time on Facebook, where I am a member of another community of coaches I highly value.  I did most of the writing that I was not able to do yesterday, assisted by another cancellation.  (Cancellations are on my mind at the moment and I think I will dedicate a whole post to them soon…watch this space.)

At the Master Mind meeting I was supported by my colleagues to make a decision to consolidate the times I see clients into two mornings and two afternoons a week.  Up to now I have been far more flexible about when I see clients, which has meant that some days I see one in the morning, and one four hours later.  Consequently I spend a lot of time in the car, running errands between clients, and my day is very fragmented which means that I am not nearly as productive as I could or would like to be.  I sent out an email to all of my clients informing them of the new schedule which will start in October (I think a little warning is polite) and I will be sure to only book new clients into those time slots from now on.

My one coaching session today was a Skype session with an international client an it brought me lots of joy.  When I began coaching I was adamant that I would only coach people I was in the same room with but over the last year I have started getting more and more requests to coach people in other countries and, to my astonishment and delight, I find that I really enjoy Skype coaching and am (I like to think) rather good at it.  I need to listen very differently and rely far more on my other senses and it is very enjoyable and I think my clients and I do great work together via Skype.

My last appointment for the day was with my acupuncturist.  Because I am such an intuitive empath (see earlier post), I tend to absorb much of my clients’ ‘stuff’ and I find that acupuncture helps me to put any feelings and physical experiences that do not belong to me back down.  I try to go once every two weeks, and every other week I go to Reiki for the same purpose.

It doesn’t look like much, but I feel very satisfied with how my day went.
