Saying What I Want to Say

by Judy Klipin

It is almost the end of the month already!  That means newsletter time looms.  I am not quite sure why the prospect of writing a newsletter feels like a looming responsibility rather than a treat.

It isn’t that I don’t like writing, because I do.  In fact I love it.   I think it is the (entirely self-imposed) deadline of sending out a newsletter in the first few days of every month.  My need to get the newsletter out gets in the way of my enjoyment of the process of writing it.  I think, too, that I put myself under pressure to make the newsletter meaningful to people.

Like I should be able to change people’s lives in some way.

Through a few-hundred-word piece of writing.

Delivered remotely into people’s – many of whom I have not and may never meet –  email inboxes.

It really doesn’t make much sense.

So this month I think I am just going to write a newsletter freely and naturally; say what I want to say (whatever that may be – I still have no idea) and not worry about whether or not I will be heard the way I think I ‘should’ be.

Not worry about being deep and meaningful.

Not worry about helping people to change their lives.

Just let loose and write whatever wants to be written.

I’ll let you know what comes out…

Feeling overwhelmed in your life, work or relationships?
