I am a work in progress….

by Judy Klipin

I try to write my Morning Pages every day but lately I have been struggling with it.  I wake up tired and think that I would rather have the extra 20 minutes of snoozing than doing the writing even though I know that the 20 minutes I spend on the Morning Pages are so much more beneficial to me than hitting the snooze button once or twice.

But this morning I woke up feeling refreshed (which may have had something to do with the fact that I went to bed at a decent hour and got a good 8 hours sleep) and wrote.  And wrote, and wrote.

I love to write – I may have mentioned that before.

It helps me to make sense of many thoughts and to distill them into some helpful ideas.

This morning was no different.  I had a blinding insight that I am still processing and coming to terms with, about something that I have been processing and coming to terms with for a very long time now.  And it seems that I am a long way off.  But, still, today’s thought helped me to get to a different level of engagement with – and acceptance of – this conundrum.

Ever since I started coaching I realised that I am not really comfortable with the label of life coach because it feels restricting.  I am not just a coach – I am so much more than what the term coach describes.

I am a coach.

But I am also a mentor.  I am a healer.  I am a seer.  I am a listener.  I am a witness.  I am a guide.  I am a teacher. I am a writer.  I am a counselor.  I am a heart worker.  I am a skills developer.  I am a learner.  I am a reconciler.  I am a container.  I am a creator.  I am a catalyst….

I am a work in progress.

Today I started to make peace with the fact that I am a work in progress, and that my work is too. I am constantly evolving into more of who I really am.

And I am fine with that.
