The Write Time

by Judy Klipin

I have learned not to force writing.

When the time is right whatever it is that needs to be said will make itself known and it will be easier to write.  The worst thing that I can do is to sit down in front of the computer before I know what I want to say.  That is a one-way ticket to instant writer’s block.

It is a new month and that means its newsletter time (you can sign up to receive my monthly newsletter here).  I usually aim to have my newsletter out by the Tuesday of a new month but that is just not going to happen this month.

I am still recovering from the migraine I had on the weekend and, after a very busy day today (working with four clients – one new – signing up two new clients and responding to numerous emails) I am somewhat exhausted and not in the right frame of mind to write a newsletter.  It will have to wait until later this week.  Or even next week.

I am sure the readers will survive!

My newsletters aren’t long and they aren’t always particularly newsy (although this month I do have a new offer that I am excited about), but I do try to make them topical and relevant. If people are generous enough to receive and read the monthly letter, the least I can do is it make it interesting and meaningful.

Speaking of writing, I haven’t posted a blog for a while – last week had only one coaching day because there was a long weekend in South Africa (it was Heritage Day) and then I was in Namibia for a (non-coaching related) workshop for two days.

I missed the writing.  I am getting so much out of writing this blog hat I am beginning to feel that a new book may be on the horizon…

I am also so happy to have a place to refer people to when they contact me and want to chat about becoming a coach.  I feel bad that I can’t go out to coffee or have a phone call chat with everyone who asks to talk to me about being a coach.  But, honestly, if I were to meet with everyone who asked me about coaching I would have 3 or 4 hours less a week to actually coach.

It is really nice to have this site to send them to- I know it isn’t as good as a one-on-one conversation but it is better than nothing and the best I can do at the moment, given my rather hideous time constraints.
